Prof. Suprakash Pal

He is currently serving as a Professor in Agricultural Entomology at Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya (North Bengal Agriculture University), Pundibari, Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India. He has been carrying out teaching, research and extension activities for more than 22 years. His areas of interest include studying arthropod diversity in agroecosystems and conservation biological control. He teaches undergraduate as well as postgraduate students and has guided 9 MSc students and 3 PhD students as chairman of advisory committee. He has published more than 70 research papers in peer-reviewed National and International journals and published one book for a reputed international publication house (Apple Academic Press, USA). He has been associated with several externally funded research projects and is presently pursuing one major project as Principal Investigator funded by Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India on survey of pests and diseases of medicinal plants in West Bengal. He has performed the administrative responsibility of In-Charge, All India Network Project on Jute and Allied Fibres (ICAR) at UBKV and had presented research papers in several seminars/symposia in India. He has served as reviewer for several reputed national and international journals and acted as external examiner for several universities, like CAU, Imphal; Dr RPCAU, Samastipur; KSNUAHS, Shivamogga; NBU, Siliguri; Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan; BCKV, Kalyani; OUAT, Bhubaneswar etc. He is a life member of 5 national and international professional societies including the Entomological Society of India (ESI), New Delhi since 2008.
